All,
I need to create a page where the data will be entered by the user outside the company.

The requirement is to create a pdf file which dynamic images and a bar code and server ir once the user clicks a button.
In short, they do not want the user to go to the report manager or process monitor to see the image.

Any thought son how this can be accomplished ?

Hey HH,

Did you take a look at this post? http://www.compshack.com/forum/peoplesoft/peoplesoft-technical/serving-a...

Also, There is a delivered PeopleSoft page that gives users the ability to generate dpf version of the page they are viewing. Go to Employee Self Service > Performance Management > My Development Document > Create Documents (or Current Documents). You will find a "Printer" icon on the page and once clicked will transform the data on the current page on to a PDF file.

Take a look at the code behind the page (EP_APPR_BASE1) and component (EP_APPR_BASE).

Yes I did see that post.
Thanks for pointing it out to me.

I need to find a way to change logos based on a field value.
Also, I need to generate a bar code. ( that is a new area to me as well. I believe there are different type of bar code fonts to use. )
Can I generate a bar code font from XML publisher ?

HH,
I'm not an expert on XMLP barcoding, at least not yet. But there is a blog that I always follow and it is all about XML publisher. There are about 6 post about barcoding alone. Hope it'll be helpful to you http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/templates/templates_rtf/barcoding/

OK,
I tried creating a simple report.

I have peoplecode on field change on a derived work record field which calls the XMLP API and finally calls the displayoutput method.

I am getting a thinktime error. While I know what it means, I am not able to eliminate this issue. I have a commitwork before the displayoutput call.

Any thoughts on what could be the possibvle reason ? and where I am going worng ?
