The process to load the data into PS records will differ based on your requirement.

Let say if you just need to insert the data into records with out checking much of the business logic's(implemented in the components) then you can go ahead of writing SQR's and then insert the data into PS records.

Let say if you need to insert the data into records by checking most of the business logic’s (implemented in the components) then you can go ahead of Application engine/File layout/Component Interface.
This seems to big process. But by this you can ensure all your business logic's are validated against your bulk data.

Thanks Hari.A!
But is there another way that doesn't involve SQR?
I mean I could try the 2 methods that you suggested, but they sound a bit complicated to me! (I'm not yet an advanced user when it comes to PeopleSoft yet)
Cheers!

Yes. There is one more way to do this.

You can have your bulk changes in a file (for ex: excel sheet). Then by using informatica mapping you can load the data into PS records. I am not familiar with informatica concepts. But I know that we can load the data to PS records through informatica mapping also can validate few business logics.
