Hi all,
PeopleSoft 8.90, PeopleTools8.47.12, Oracle9i
I am implementing Journal Approval Workflow in our company ,I cloned the delivered workflow, it is almost the same ,aslo created Route control profile AdminAreaGL and assinged to all GLUSER and GLSUPER.
I had also changes the APPROVAL RULE SET -Route to Role to GLSUPER.
1.When I am creating a journal , editing it and "Submit"ing for approval. The Approval Status of Journal is directly getting change to "APPROVED to POST".
2.Even there is no worklist entry in GLSUPER worklist
Basically, when we "Submit" the journal for the first time itself , we should get a message that it is Submitted for approval.
Is this because &READY_TO_POST becomes True. I am not sure if this is the only reason. I got this information from "submit_post_status" function present in JRNL_PANELS_WRK.PB_PROCESS.FieldEdit event.
3.When I create a journal, after just plugging in the Search Page values and enter into the Journal page, even before saving the Journal , the "Approval Action" field on the Approval Page ( General Ledger > Journals > Journal Entry > Create Journal Entries > Approval ), instead of appearing as a drop down list , the Status apprears "Approve" and there isnt any drop down. It appears as display only field. And when that Journal is "Saved" on the Approval Page the "Approval Status" appears as "Approved".
Please pour in some suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

There is a page at PeopleTools > Workflow > Routings & Rotes > Review Role Users that helps you identify user list that workflow includes. Just enter your Role Name, Route Control Type and search. You should have a total user's found greater than zero. This is just a way to help you make sure you have users setup under your workflow.

Hi Lepa ,
Thanks for your help, I checked "Review Role Users" I am getting all count greater than zero, there are 2 GLUSER and 3 GLSUPERS. I had already done settings for all this users.
Could you please help me that when I am running the Process "SUBMIT PROCESS" why the approval status is getting change to Approve to Post, I thing some flag has to be set before the Virtual_Approver function is getting called in SaveEdit event of JRNL_HEADER_IU.JRNL_PROCESS_REQST or some thing is happening when we are clicking the PROSCESS button for running the SUBMIT PROCESS.
Thanks & Regards
Atul
To approve journal entries using PeopleSoft Workflow, you must clear the Mark Journal(s) to Post
check box on the User Preferences - General Ledger page.

Hi Lepa ,
I have already done that for all the GLSUPER and GLUSERS.
when GLUSER is creating the any Journal and Editing at that time tihe status is None but as soon as he is submitting the journal the statul is getting changed to Approved to Post .
In actuall case it should get chnge to Submitted for approval but this is not happening .
Thanks & Regards

You need to specify Approval Options for the Journal on the approval options page, have you done that? You can do that at the source, BU or ledger level. The "Jornal Approval Option" should be set to Specify Approval Rule and then enter your business process name and the approval rule set for your workflow process.
