I've put an existing page into an existing component. Do I need to (Re)register the component in order for it to appear? Do I need to run the portal sync?

Thanks

Nope, If you have already registered the component you don't need to do that again. Just save the component in App Designer. You might need to clear cache on your browser and logout and back in.

You might have to give access to the page also.

Thanks,
