Hello All,

I am trying to create new component Interface. I have only Custom Record as a search record and main record in my component. I have key fields emplid, effdt in my custom record. I am creating a component Interface for the custom component. But in the key list (GETKEYS, FINDKEYS, CREATE KEYS) it only showing emplid, why it is not showing effdt in the key list in component Interface. Even when I create a new component Interface on JOB_DATA, it is showing only emplid, empl_rcd in key list, why not showing effdt, effseq in key list in new component Interface. Please let me know.

Thanks

Re: Component Interface Keys

Hi there,
Your GETKEYS, FINDKEYS come from the search record. Is effdt field a key field on the search record. It does't sound like it from your post above. In other words, your field has to be a search key or alternate search key.

The CI_JOB_DATA does have the effdt field as key. Look under properties and then COLL_JOB.

Re: Component Interface Keys

Thanks Compshack!!!
Yes. the effdt field is not search key. But It should ask in Create Keys right. In CREATE KEYS also it is showing only EMPLID, why it is not showing effdt. Please clarify me.

Re: Component Interface Keys

It will not show up in the create keys either. If the underlying component allows the Add action, then Create keys are generated for the component interface automatically. They map to fields marked as search in the search record for the component or the add search record, if one is specified.

You cannot change the Create Keys.
