AE-CI Error

I am trying to run an AE which uses a CI (Customised CI for a delivered component) to load data into PS. While running the AE following happens
1. Sometimes the job runs without issue
2. Occationally it runs to "No success" - with the error message of "Page load failed for SAVINGS_PLANS/GBL. (15,60)"
3. But whenever this error comes, and if we try running the AE again, it runs to success without issues.
4. When this error comes, only the first row does not get processed and the rest of the rows gets processed.
Tried testing the CI via 2 tier, it works fine. Tried using the CI in ExceltoCI and tested and it works fine there as well.
Any suggestions on what and why such issue is happening?

Thank you
Aarthi

Re: AE-CI Error

Without having the complete picture, it is difficult to say why it is happening.

Are you reading the data from a file and loading into PS?
If yes, did you test if it is good data? Chances are that there are issues with logic written to read the file and it returns bad data. This is my wild guess. If the program works for all row but the first one, i would suspect data.

Did you try running the program with only first row? if yes, what happens when you re-run the program?

Re: AE-CI Error

Have you tried tracing your AE so you can get more than just an error message? If not, then try this article to setup your trace. http://www.compshack.com/peoplesoft/application-engine/trace-application-engine-processes-using-process-definitions

Re: AE-CI Error

I had tried running the program by removing the first row, but still the following row errored out. There has been cases were in, not only the first row, but rows inbetween also got this error. Rest of the rows get processed.
I even tried rewriting the App Engine in full, but still getting the error. The CI was created on the delivered component - SAVINGS_PLANS.
Yes the data is read from a file, and in the AE, using the Filelayout (standalone rowset), its been loaded in the CI and the data is good.
In development, first run, after the server bounce, only gets this error, from the second run of the AE, all the rows are processed and are loaded into the component without issues. But in production, the bounce does not happen, but the job fails now and then with this kind of error, and if the job is rerun, it runs without issues.

Yes, I did the trace and found that the below error message.
"50715 08.35.05 0.027197 PRMGet failed for component SAVINGS_PLANS market GBL"
Tried searching this error message in internet, but had no luck.

Re: AE-CI Error

Are there any similar processes running on your system. If so do any others get that error? It could be an Oracle issue causing the problem. Have your DBA check with Oracle if they have had any cases for that error message you are getting.

Re: AE-CI Error

Thank you for your quick response.
We have many appilication engines which read from file write into temp table and then using CI loads data into the system, but this CI is used only by this AE. All other AEs are working fine. even this AE works fine many times, but only few times causes errors like this. Infact this is the only CI for this component. Can you explain, what you mean by issue with Oracle. It would be easier that way, to talk to by DBA ppl on this.

Thank you

Re: AE-CI Error

There are Peoplesoft errors that occur due to version of Oracle software installed on the server. Oracle provides updates to fix those issues when they occur. Even intermittent ones are sometimes caused by Oracle software and not Peoplesoft Software. Your DBA should be able to contact Oracle to find information directly from their website for the specific error message you are getting. If they had a case opened for that error message your getting they may already know about it and have a fix for it. If Oracle is not the platform your on then he should contact the vendor for the one you use for your installation to find out if they have any information on the error message your getting. Google this "Peoplesoft PRMGet failed for component" and you will see mention of this error.

Re: AE-CI Error

This is still a mystery to me however, I used the GetRowset() procedure instead of GetSQL() or Do-select action after which, I never got this issue. Infact, my AE never went to NO SUCCESS, even though it did not process all the rows.
